The Upper Valley area of New Hampshire and Vermont is part of the Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee/Upper Valley region. It centers around Lebanon and Hanover in New Hampshire and Norwich and White River Junction/Hartford on the other side of the Connecticut River  in Vermont. Hanover, NH and Norwich, VT belong to the same school district, the Dresden School District.

Those who relocate to the Upper Valley  often end up living 20-45 minutes from their jobs.  Dartmouth College, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Hypertherm, Fluent, Inc., Alice Peck Day Hospital, Tele-Atlas, Spectra, etc. employees live in Eastman, New London, Thetford, Enfield, Canaan, Wilmot, Plainfield, Windsor, Grantham and many other NH & VT communities.
